Women are intuitive by nature, raised culturally on the nurture end, and have a unique language that the typical male doesn't always grasp. When a woman asks about a random item point blank, it does not always mean the direct answer is the answer she is looking for. She gets cues and clues from body language, tone, direction of eyes, physical expressions, and key words that only women have the secret decoder book to. ;)
Women approach problem solving differently. A man will spend three hours driving around, while a woman will stop at the nearest gas station or heaven forbid, ask a stranger for directions. Straight line or curvy waves? Men are one track creatures.........which is why they won't ask until they've been nagged to hell and back, there aren't any alternatives left or you've been properly trained. j/k sorta.
now for the rant
Gone are his navy blue suit, red tie and loafers, replaced by argyle sweaters, corduroys and duck boots.
Erruhm, do Clark's campaign people really think women are that shallow to be swayed by clothing? Sure taking showers, clearing debris out of your teeth, and not sporting long curvy fingernails is always a plus......but come on. And what the hell are duck boots?
the aide said. "We've had to educate them not only on where he stands on domestic issues but on the fact that he's not just talking about the war and military issues."
Please buy that aide some duct tape. Go figure a man would use a quote like that.
..... recruited a network of women who speak in a weekly conference call, exchanging ideas about how to win over women with endorsements, advertisements and events.
Good. A women's approach
A 17-minute biographical film .... has numerous references to General Clark's wife and his work with women in the military, portraying him as a champion of family issues.
Bad. A man's approach.
If you have to tell them, the message isn't received in the manner that is anticipated. Believe it or not, women like to discover things on their own, especially in social settings with other women mixed with talk of about "inane" things. What men think of as chatter is much like the props on a stage or the supporting actors. It defines and clarifies the minor clues on the main subject.
Even if Clark and his campaign figures it out, they should never underestimate the power of women's intuition. The one area where we women miss on occasion is when a guy takes on a persona that he truly believes in down to his core. Bush sways women of the religious type because he really does believe he is. Exposing Bush for his religious hypocrisy is the best attack Dems can take for that group, except the extreme right to lifers. Some of which is taking hold in pockets of highly religious women.
